Abayas

Crepe has a slightly grainy, matte surface and a fluid drape that resists creasing, which makes it a reliable everyday choice. Nida is softer and lighter with a faint sheen and is the classic Gulf abaya fabric, comfortable in heat. Both are listed by name on each product page.

An occasion abaya is made for weddings, Eid and evening gatherings rather than daily wear. Ours are finished with details such as pearl trim, lace panels, organza sleeves or hand embroidery, mainly from Noor Atelier and Maison Rimal. They come in the same five lengths as everyday abayas.

Both are correct; it depends on the occasion and your style. A closed abaya gives full coverage and a clean line, while an open-front or kimono abaya is worn over a dress or a long top and trousers. If you choose open-front, plan the layer underneath as part of the outfit.

Follow the care label on the product page; most everyday crepe and nida abayas do well on a cool, gentle wash inside out, or a hand wash, and should dry on a hanger out of direct sun. Embellished occasion abayas are best dry cleaned. Press on low heat from the inside.

It depends on the style; the product page says whether a shayla is included. Where it is not, our scarves and shaylas department has chiffon, crinkle and silk shaylas in tones chosen to pair with our abayas, and the complete-the-look strip suggests matches.
