Questions about Trousers & Skirts
Which wide-leg trousers are coolest in summer?
Linen and light cotton wide-leg trousers are the coolest, because the fabric breathes and the wide cut keeps it away from the skin. Palazzo pants in flowing fabrics are almost as comfortable. Denser weaves are better for air-conditioned offices and winter.
How long are your maxi skirts?
Our pleated and satin skirts sit at a modest maxi length, falling to the ankle or just above it on most heights. If a skirt is too long for you, it can be hemmed in store in 2–3 days; pleated skirts are hemmed with extra care to keep the pleats even.
What is the difference between palazzo pants and wide-leg trousers?
Palazzo pants are wider from the hip down and made in soft, flowing fabric, so they move almost like a skirt. Wide-leg trousers are more tailored at the hip and fall straight and wide below. Both are cut long and can be hemmed in store.
Do your skirts have an elastic waist or a zip?
It varies by style. Pleated skirts usually have a comfortable elastic waistband, and satin skirts often close with a concealed zip for a smoother line. The product description states the waist finish so you can choose by fit and comfort.
Does a satin skirt crease easily?
Satin shows creases more than crepe or pleats, especially after sitting. Hang it as soon as you take it off and steam lightly from the inside; avoid a hot iron directly on the face. For long car journeys or travel, a pleated skirt is the easier choice.
Can I have trousers hemmed at the Al Barsha store?
Yes. Quick hemming of trousers is available at both Al Barsha and Jumeirah and takes 2–3 days. Bring the shoes you will wear so the length is pinned correctly. The current hemming price is shown on our alterations page. Once hemmed, trousers cannot be returned, so try them on fully first.
