Accessibility Statement

Saffron Lane aims to meet WCAG 2.2 AA. See the accessibility panel, Arabic RTL support, known limitations and how to report a problem.

Last updated 24 October 2026

We want everyone to be able to browse, choose and order from Saffron Lane comfortably, in English or Arabic, on any device. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. The site includes an accessibility panel, full right-to-left Arabic, and keyboard and screen-reader support. If something gets in your way, please tell us.

Our commitment

Accessibility is part of how we build every page, not a feature added at the end. We design and test against WCAG 2.2 level AA, the internationally recognised standard for accessible websites. That covers people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification, voice control, or who simply find small text and low contrast difficult in bright Dubai sunlight.

We aim for conformance, and we review it whenever we change the design. Where we fall short, we say so below and work to fix it.

The accessibility panel

Every page has an accessibility panel, opened from the button in the site header. Your choices are saved on your device, so they stay in place as you move around the site.

Setting What it does
Text size Increases the size of all text without breaking the layout
High contrast Strengthens colour contrast for text, buttons and borders
Reduced motion Turns off image wipes, headline reveals and other animation
Link underlines Underlines every link so links do not rely on colour alone

The site also respects the “reduce motion” setting in your operating system, and you can switch between light and dark themes.

What we have built in

  • Arabic, right to left. The Arabic site is a full right-to-left layout, with Arabic fonts and translated content, not an automatic translation. Language is marked in the code so screen readers pronounce each page correctly.
  • Keyboard access. Menus, the search overlay, filters, size pickers, the bag and checkout can all be used with a keyboard. Focus is clearly visible, and dialogs return focus to where you were when closed.
  • Screen readers. Pages use one main heading and a logical heading order, landmarks for header, navigation, main content and footer, and labels on form fields and icon buttons.
  • Images. Product and editorial images have text alternatives. Decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Colour contrast. Text and controls are checked for contrast across all three colour palettes, in light and dark modes.
  • Forms. Every field has a visible label. Errors are described in text, next to the field, and announced to screen readers.
  • Zoom and reflow. Pages work at 200 percent zoom and on narrow phone screens without sideways scrolling.
  • Touch targets. Buttons and links are sized to be easy to tap.

Size and fit information

Choosing a length or size should not depend on seeing a chart. Our size guide presents the abaya length chart and clothing sizes as real data tables with headers, and the length finder can be used with a keyboard and screen reader. If you would rather talk it through, message us on WhatsApp at +971 4 349 2210.

Known limitations

We are honest about where the site may not yet meet our target:

  • Product photographs are added by our team over time. Some images may have short or generic descriptions until they are reviewed.
  • Third-party content such as embedded maps on the Stores page is provided by other services and may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA. Store addresses and telephone numbers are always given as plain text alongside.
  • Online payment pages, where card payment is enabled, may be provided by a payment partner whose pages are outside our direct control.

We review these regularly and fix issues as we find them.

Visiting our stores

If you have access needs for a store visit, a styling appointment or a fitting, let us know when you request it on our styling page or by phone, and we will do our best to prepare. Jumeirah Flagship: +971 4 349 2210. Al Barsha Store: +971 4 388 6514. Please see live hours on our Stores page.

Report a problem

If you find something on this site you cannot use, or content you cannot access, please tell us. Use the contact form and choose “Something else”, or message us on WhatsApp at +971 4 349 2210. It helps to include:

  1. The page address, or what you were trying to do.
  2. What went wrong.
  3. The device, browser and any assistive technology you use.

We aim to reply within one working day. If we cannot fix the problem straight away, we will help you complete your order or find the information another way, for example by phone or WhatsApp.

How we test

We check pages with automated accessibility tools, manual keyboard testing, and screen readers in English and Arabic, at phone, tablet and desktop widths. We test again after significant changes.
